the morn

by Peter Humphreys

through
the curtains
behind you
the morn light
creeps
slowly
deceitfully
willfully
stealing
the dark
stillness
of the night
as your breasts
rise and rise
as you breathe
my breath
and then
let fall
a sigh
to deny
the silence
of
the morn

That nesting magpie has nothing on you. Who would ever want to move from that spot. Beautiful, delicately produced. Thanks.

Beautiful and enigmatic, the moment, the sounds, the "deceitfully willfuly stealing morn". The "nesting magpie" mysterious in its evocations...in Chinese, good fortunes, in other cultures ominous, its species collects and chatters-- sounds like life in all its depth and variety nesting and bringing foth what is to be in the breath of sleep and wake...

Your words and the magpie has stolen my heart. Softly romantic.
