Anthology by Jason HanniganAn anthology of my emotions,
a silent concerto in my mind.
My life a largo requiem,
an elegy of the unborn.
Dreaming past my psalm
of hushed regrets,
yet no bolero comes to pass.
I tired of the dismal lullaby
tugging my mind
into perennial sleep.
A bitter nocturne to the moon.
Then there was you.
Suddenly, an aria,
quickening my soul.
Countervailing my
somber cantata,
I utter it no more.
Immediately a tango
of intertwined desires
flushed to the surface.
False dreams of my own idyll abandoned,
a perfect waltz realized and obtained.
A handfasted epithalamion,
a flawless dream made true.
And together, we dance.
My heart races to a rigadoon
while my feet to a pavan.
The deep rhapsody of my love resonates
over a distant minuet of the past.
Compositions inhibited
never for the future.
Ever free to dance
from the present on. 02/26/2007 Posted on 02/27/2007 Copyright © 2026 Jason Hannigan
