Anthology

by Jason Hannigan

An anthology of my emotions,
a silent concerto in my mind.

My life a largo requiem,
an elegy of the unborn.
Dreaming past my psalm
of hushed regrets,
yet no bolero comes to pass.
I tired of the dismal lullaby
tugging my mind
into perennial sleep.

A bitter nocturne to the moon.

Then there was you.

Suddenly, an aria,
quickening my soul.

Countervailing my
somber cantata,
I utter it no more.

Immediately a tango
of intertwined desires
flushed to the surface.

False dreams of my own idyll abandoned,
a perfect waltz realized and obtained.

A handfasted epithalamion,
a flawless dream made true.

And together, we dance.
My heart races to a rigadoon
while my feet to a pavan.

The deep rhapsody of my love resonates
over a distant minuet of the past.

Compositions inhibited
never for the future.
Ever free to dance
from the present on.

Excellent use of forms of compositions to encapsulate enticingly, and variously, the different dances, and tributes, moods and tempos of your life-- love the anthologizing!
