A Petal

by Rhonda Maneki

So, delicate,
A scented ivory
rose petal,
velvet soft
splendor to the
touch. Slowly
releases.

~floating~

~flutters~

-breathe-

~hovers~

Just before
it settles
upon the floor.
In its decent
to reality.

From A crown of
once blooming
glory.

To become fading
memory Yet, its
scent remains,
lingering within
the senses.

Author's Note: I watched a petal fall...it hovered then slipped into a memory.
