william by Meghan Helmicha pair, a couple
of Hitler eyes strip
the blush from my tongue
and sprinkle it between us.
our skin freckled
with this pink lust
and black sweat,
milked and dressed.
placed in armies that slide
down my side, crusade
across my thigh.
my chest folds
around you in short gasps,
in the small gaps -
the places that connect us. 01/09/2007 Posted on 02/25/2007 Copyright © 2025 Meghan Helmich

Posted by Gira Bryant on 11/04/07 at 08:27 AM "pink lust and black sweat" is fabulous, but it is the rest of the poem that comes after that which is the strongest. There is an unmistakable rhythm to it that simply flows through the word choices. Lovely. |

Unique.
