"Selling Your Soul for a Cupcake"

by Cristy M.

A conversation made
in passes
from a boy who's
wearing glasses:

I am going to saw
off your feet and
sometime I'll
sew reattach them.

I wish I could remove
your bones one by one
and make you a
fleshball of goo.
You would let me
wouldn't you?

(No.)

And why the hell
wouldn't you?

(Because I like
my bones, because I
think they're pretty
in me.)

I had sex with
a forty year-old
man last night.

(And I knew
that he knew
that I knew
that he was lying.)

He says
because he knows me:
Everything is fine
and dandy as soon
as I start taking
off your clothes.
