Friendship Cake by A. Paige WhiteWith every bite I take
I think of her
wonder if she rode with him in the ambulance
or followed behind in her car
With every bite I take
I pray for him
Though laden with this world's goods
He is poor
I pray he comes through this
enriched beyond his wildest dreams
A citizen of the Kingdom
A royal son of the King.
Amen 02/20/2007 Author's Note: "Is this not the fast which I chose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke? Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house; when you see the naked, to cover him; and not to hide yourself from your own flesh (and blood)?" (Isaiah 58: 6-7).

Posted by Dave Fitzgerald on 02/20/07 at 07:32 PM I'm not one for prayers, but I like this. I think it's because it's for someone else and I think people pray for themselves too much sometimes. |
