Author's Note: This is my first Tanka. This is a birthday present to someone I work with. I admire him for his strength and courage through a physical battle he won that could have easily taken him from us. He is a friend, co-worker and a role model for shrugging off pain and death and still working with that smile! Happy Birthday,,,,
