at what point is too far
beyond ever after?
silly smiles contained within slow motion snickers
missed by most in the room,
but not me ...

I watched as the similes slid by
and ran to the other side of forgetful,
where they'll stay until that tap
on the forehead
of, 'Oh yeah, what was I thinking?'
or something like that

where are the strong when you need them?
are they hiding behind words and sweet sentiment
all the right sighings
at most appropiate moments
but there they remain,
mixed in with the rest ...
