Free From freedom

by Razel Davies

Constitution of my mind,
Constructional laughter.
Moral path walked,
Stumble pebble step.
Conviction of thought.
Danger’s cliff edge.

Madness adorns,
The herd’s voice.
Follow, follow ye children,
Fore my way is right.
I lead you,
You blind men,
Trust my lie of sight.

The end,
Justifies the means.
But can the means,
Justify the end?

Walk there,
Step forward,
I command.
Power is mine,
False hope,
My gift to you.
There is no free,
In freedom.

The last 2 lines remind me of Janis Joplin's song. where she sand\g that "freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose". Very thought provoking write.

Every line delivered like a sharp, little knife. I love it.

Very well written. I personally find great joy in being able to get a wonderful job, as a woman and go to the polls to cast my ballot according to the dictates of my heart. I'm very thankful I can choose where I want to be employed and not have it dictated to me or dictated that I must stay at home and tend the hearth. Yes, I'm very thankful for freedom. But that's just me.
