"Star Collector"

by Max Phineas

Beyond a distant horizon
A lava lamp sunset grows dim.
Black seas above are re-lit
Speckled with the blazing Eyes of Earth.

Warming reassurance
for spirits gray and bitter.

Visual Karma
for every Smiling Soul,

I am the most lucky, though-
My corner of sky is blacker than dormant radio static.
For I have a
Jar of Captured Magic
in which lay spinning galaxies and clusters.

You gathered for us a solar system
a Nebula to call our own
Where amid celestial swirls of rainbow Phenomena
We can sit and gaze back at Earth.

Fantastic, Cole. I love this... it is the way I would live if I could--all the time. Many original thoughts, and frine mood created in a small space. Most people don't know how lucky they are, and that there even exists such a "Jar of Captured Magic" (like fireflies (!) This is going in my favorites.

This may sound strange or stupid but it's good that you're able to be inspired by photographs. I used to be, but after a long dry spell I can't be inspired by anything but personal events and it's sort of irritating. I really like this - fantastic imagery. Great job.
