To Be With

by Joe Cramer

To be with my true love, be at her side

The encounters of such rare affections.

What has made me love, eyes open wide?

In eve, envious moon, pale reflections

With you, to brush my hand upon your cheek.

My sight, a precious viewing to the eyes.

More loving words, I would but fain to speak

Love's tongue, the voice of gods, such soft sweet sighs.

My heart beats quickly with feverous pulse

At just the thought of your most gentle touch.

Love for you deeply, above all else,

A heart for you always, I know this much.

At long last, to be at your side my sweet

Such peace for all time, when our hearts do meet.
