Violated values by A. Paige White
What has the most worth on the third rock from the sun?
Is it the largest and most exquisitely formed and crafted diamond?
Is it the largest pool of liquified dinosaur bones underground that fuels our modern lives?
Or is it a human being? (not a human doing)
What gives us the most self esteem, belittling the flaws and faults of another or looking beyond the flaws (everybody can see those, nothing noble in fault finding)to find some little treasure often overlooked and remark on it bringing a smile of joy to someone with violated value weighed down with a sense of worthlessness.
I think I'll violate the standard values of superficial worth today and look for something worthy underneath. Today will be a treasure hunt of violated values.
I think I'll start with me.
But I won't stop there.
02/08/2007 Author's Note: Heavenly Father, I ask you right now, as I begin this day, for cleansing of the eyes of my heart so I can rightly see the true value of what you see in each human being I interact with today. I ask you, Holy Spirit, to impart an explosion of refreshed sense of true worth to each person that reads this and let them light the fuse of another whose fire may have dimmed or gone out. Amen
