Shakespeare Sonnet Shake-Up

by Megan Langley

As any mother's child, though not so bright
And I will comment upon that offence
For I have sworn thee fair, and thought thee bright
Against thy reasons making no defence

Make answer Muse, wilt thou not haply say
Thou art as fair in knowledge as in hue
And swear that brightness doth not grace the day
No marvel then though I mistake my view

So will I pray that thou mayst have thy Will
That for thy right, my self will bear all wrong
And you must live drawn by your own sweet skill
Be scorned, like old men of less truth than tongue

Thy merit hath my duty strongly knit
O learn to read what silent love hath writ

You can mix-up lines from Shakespeare's sonnets to make your own! Could be a great tool for you fellow teachers out there! Tons of fun :)
