Fog

by Rhonda Maneki

The morning,
is foggy and quiet,
almost too quiet to bear,
no birds greeting the day,
no wind, an elegant stalk
of ginger just outside my window
delicately bends beneath the
oppressive burden of grey.

A deafening silence

"rain"
