breast pocket contents;; by Brynn Dizack
the intricate:
a touch on the back of the hand,
however slight a movement in the jawline,
the shifting of weight from hip to hip
to hip
or how i owned next-to-nothing:
a box of photos from high school,
loose change,
ticket stubs,
receipts,,
the greatest weight is collected
in our smallest and most useless possessions

Posted by Michelle Angelini on 01/30/07 at 05:03 AM I like this quite a bit. It's got a very nonchalant tone to it, sort of like, "I'm ok no matter how I am. Take me or leave me." It's also an acceptance of circumstance, so that the collection of physical articles doesn't mean as much as the emotional importance of life.
