aging

they should know. each of them.
yet i still have to ask and that...ruins it.

family,
friends, other humans included
ought to know by now, my sickness.
death-walk me to the gallows for humans
who grow tired, less tensile, more fragile.

even
t.v. producers play background music
in the foreground of the show. i lose.
crosswords are getting harder to solve
so there's less glee. life goes by

carrying me in it's eyeblink, i grin;
swallow, then frown. it's sad. so i smile.
