All is Lost

by Susan Q Tomas

All my thoughts put into words,
stupid rhymes, silly phrases,
powerful emotions, reactions to life.
poof, gone as if in a fickle heart.

They saw the light of day for a while,
but now the bulbs are missing,
never to blossom again
when eventual spring comes.

I try, but I can't remember them all.
The first, the meaningful, the last.
I sewed my seed in sand,
and it washed away with the tide.

Author's Note: Oh drama. My computer broke down, and I thought I copied all the files, but I didn't. My poetry folder is empty. I have no record of any of the poems I wrote and posted on pathetic.org over the last 4 years. Really. I don't have any of them.
