Familiar Smell by Maria Terezia Ferencztonight when I was falling asleep
lying on my hair
the smell
familiar
I thought about it for some time
realized it smelled
just like
my brother's
hair
when I bent down to kiss
him goodbye
while he
lying
in his
casket
slept
peacefully
This morning when I awoke
stretching yawning
lying on my pillow
the smell
familiar
I thought about it
but only for
a moment
realized it smelled
just like
my lover's
hair
when he bent down to kiss
me goodbye
while I
lying
in my bed
slept
fitfully
