Jack of Suits

by Matthew Zangen

Dealer's draw, all gone wild,
ante's in so call this bluff.
See your stay and stake your raise.
Fold and pay or stand up straight.

Flip up the pink slip.
Shed your suit for a queen of hearts.
Ride the river, blind,
or sit and play your part.

End the lender's game,
all in to take the winning pot;
or turn the table away,
but what's left is what you've got.

Save up now, but bet your bank
you lost your hands
counting cards in chips and cents.
Dollars change and so does rent.
