sweet rememberings

by Peter Humphreys

beside
the iron
fence
along
an ironed
wall
your tiny figure
is
so tense
fragile
yes
yet
tiny small
so I can
lift you
in my arms
and hold you
to my body bold
and as the
tendrils
do unfold of
a yet tender love
I kiss you deeply
slowly calm
and as I hold
you in my arms
a shooting star
a speck of dust
drops through
the sky
at nether
dusk and
as we sate
our passion
right
lest it dissemble
with the light
a lonely cat
does lowly
run along
the wall beside
the fence of
iron clad
and ironed
souls
yet sweet
rememberings
