Mid Winter's Cold by Alisa JsIt's on days like today
I wish I had more than a lover
Someone here to attend to me,
Someone who really cared and would stay ...
Knocked on my ass
By this mid-winter's cold,
Stuffy and congested
No way to go
To the store for some OJ,
This sniffling won't stop
My throat is on fire
My voice like a croak
Of a frog on a bad day,
Ha!
How glamorous is this?
It would take somebody who loved me,
All vanity's gone
As my eyes won't stop dropping these tears
Endlessly ...
He'd have to really love me
To stay through all this
Making sure I am comfortable and calm
Oh God! Look at this hair!
Such a mess
Just like all the rest of me ...
Mocha and Java stay by my side
With their cat intuition
They know something's different,
Although without opposable thumbs
They can't even make tea!
Three days and counting
This glorious picture of agony ...
Its on days like today
I wish I had more than a lover,
Someone here to attend to me
Someone who really cared and would stay ...

Posted by Genevieve Sturrock on 01/18/07 at 02:10 PM I'm feeling for you...'course even though I'm well loved by two adoring men with opposable thumbs...I'd much rather just be alone when I'm feeling that rough. |
