resilient observation yields gifts beyond impeccable vision
by Frankie Sanchezthere is more to you than your beauty,
more than just the way you bend sunlight,
more than the image imprinted by way of my eye,
you have layers and depth
and reasons,
you are made up of meticulous pieces,
portions made indivisible,
highlights,
and flaws,
and qualities,
but what is visible to the naked eye
makes you an optical phenomenon,
a gift,
a reminder
that observing you in all your uniqueness
yields perspective and an open mind.
