Clouded Observations

by Elizabeth Seago

As she exhaled,
The smoke drew slowly from her
Lips, escaping them.
Floating higher,
They collect above her head
For her visual entertainment.

She stares, enthralled,
As she observes the dancing clouds.
Curling, curving, flowing,
Slipping, dripping,
Eyeing, flying,
Swirling through the space
Above her mind.

As it dissipates,
She wishes to go along for the ride.
Out and about,
Escaping the cannabis chuckles
And into a place
Where happiness isn't labored.
