Negligent curiosity

by Matthew Sharp

Rainbows flash in pools of oil and gas,
Candy wrappers cigarettes butts and broken glass
Promoting trash for the consuming mass,
it’s all for cash,
they sold their souls and called it class.

I tried to fit in,
But I’ve given up again,
The heart of self,
Has given birth to infinite wealth.

That I can’t spend,
Until I find a trend,
At all cost.

I’m lost…….

In negligent curiosity.
