The New Year dances young
with this first meeting of the Sun
my head is clear
I smile with this breath of another year
With the ticking of the clock
I tip my glass
to the passing
to the beginning
Now as the first rays of the sun
glitter upon the fallen snow
my pen does flow
the mind moves in fantasy of the unknown
For in this world where war and death is known
where passions cry, light and dark
where lie silence the womb
Heaven can hold to your tears in the darkness of times
Many are the seeds of the human heart
dark and light
but within the breath of the new year
may we each be useful, choosing the bright
For each, add to their world
small or large
May yours seed, be the glory of the heart
that shall endure the fire of life
Beneath the jelly of mine fantasy
may some, may all
for the briefness of the moment, for life call
Know greatness of life bread, joy, love and peace
May it reign in your heart 01/01/2007 Posted on 01/01/2007 Copyright © 2025 Keith D Allison
