Sadness Revisited

by Steve Baba

Tired tears come easily
When there's a sad movie
To watch, empty stomach
But not hungry at all,
Desperate wishes for
A woman who no longer
Lives, but is still
Wanted dearly for a very
Long time.

wow.. i was trying to pick a line to quote, but honestly, this whole poem is amazing. i loved the opening. about the sad movies.. and tying that into a greater sadness. i was impressed that you used a few short lines to convey something much deeper than what is on the surface..

this conveys such great sadness in such a deep touching way, well done.

The perspective/time frame here arching from part-to present-to assuredly future-- is moving and fin the end, originally stated! "but is still Wanted dearly for a very Long time."--excellent.

I sense the hunger you're talking about here is the kind that can't be satisfied by food or eating. It's that intense longing for something you want, but which is beyond reach. Just recently, I was journaling about this. Hunger can drive a person to action or keep them stuck in a place where they are afraid. Welcome to pathetic. ;-)
