The King of America

by Joe Cramer

Elvis was the king,

Of this we can be sure.

But what did this royalty bring

When his life became such a chore?

Never coming quite so near

To what he truly wanted to do.

Of this, he did truly fear

Despite comebacks, none too few.

Elvis is still considered the king

Though where he is, we still don't know.

But man, he sure could sing,

So, where did he go?

Author's Note: Elvis died today.

Couldn't tell you, man. Great work.
