I did not know

How to tell her

That I was not even remotely

Interested in her.

There was no spark,

No flame, not even an ember

Of suggestion or perhaps notion

On my part that would interest me.

So I tool the best way,

That would be no way.

Not to say, or do anything.

To me, that seems to be

The best course in these situations.

Sometimes it works

And I move on.

Often it doesn't.
