Emily $#%@inson

by Joe Cramer

Emily Dickinson penning poems

Alone in the long, late afternoon.

Nature lurking outside of her storied windows,

Death knocking at her doorstep.

Emily writing quick succinct poems in sucession

Bundled up tightly, lightly tied with lace.

The travel trunk holds a myriad of possibility

For the rest of the world to dwell upon.

As one of my favorite poets I sure would like a look into Emily's trunk... Nice piece!
