My Fruit Divine

by Tony Whitaker

a berry for me that always shines
a taste to thaw the coldest heart
thank you for being my fruit divine.

luscious grapes upon the vine
ripe and sweet thy love imparts
a berry for me that always shines

grapes fermented into a dry white wine
gentle on the lips and a little tart
thank you for being my fruit divine.

in time this wine becomes refined
encased I see you set apart
a berry for me that always shines

if I feel a need to warm this heart
I need only taste this work of art
a berry for me that always shines
thank you for being my fruit divine
