bipolar raindrops on an unrequited lover

by Deborah S Regan

I want to smell the rain
and cry in the sensation
I've belittled myslelf again
in pitiful acts of unrequited love....

and I fall back into an acrobat's embrace
he catches me again and again
without the net

the rain doesn't want to hear me
my children cry instead and I am pulverized

criss-cross crysanthemums, I write for myself,
stick your nose out of my self-effacements
my jumbled merit is my own
