polar bears at 30,000 feet

by Peter Humphreys

I have never
been to the
Arctic and
I guess
I never will
but this is
pretty good
rising
rose tinting
reddening sun
clearing blue
ice cold sky
rolling fields
of seeming
snow clouds
crumpling
rumpling
mist-like
feathery
whispy things

no polar bears
thank god
mind you
that would be
some sight
at 30,000 feet

goodness me
what was that?

lay off the
Guinness,
Peter!
