Desolate Souls by Alisa Jsif the embers are glowing,
will we have a fire?
before those night winds come to erase the flame,
russet they are all gathered together
silky smiles looking for heaven's way,
reflecting off moon streams there in the midst
swaying to that distant serenade ...
sighings surround mistaken assumptions
errors abound in the twisting,
take flight and soar through regions uncharted
aimless they are without eyes,
trembling there on that high wire
acres above ground swelling
latitude notwithstanding
don't falter my love,
I am here ...
desolate souls with wide open hollows
longing for comfort once known,
memories play tricks on the mind
aching not realized in time,
battered blows to the heart, they'll try
careful!
those embers may smolder too long
no fire, no pain, no wonder ...
