Desperate, Who Me?

by Alisa Js

Desperate,
They say
Those voices,
The ones that slither 'round
Just outside those boundaries,
The ones that speak
There
On that edge,
Desperate,
They whisper and blow ...

Yet,
How am I desperate with you in my life?
Tell me,
How does that apply?
You fill my soul with laughter
Encourage my heart with your love and devotion
Come to my aid when those dark forces gather,
To snuff out that blight from below ...

Your steadfastness strengthens my resolve
Your friendship
So priceless and rare,
The wonder of you
Enchanting,
The promise that awaits
Quite fascinating!
Desperate my dear?
Who, me?
I think not!
