Bloodlines by Alisa Js
Why are hearts and souls sometimes fractured
When drops of blood are believed to hold
So tight through stormy reasons
And never flow away from tender understanding
Never throw it in your face,
Explain to me why links of friendship
Grafted in provide a love,
During crisis peradventure
When those faulty bloodlines fail ...
What happened to those seasons shared?
Early smiles and giggles,
Simpler times
Innocent dreams
So full of hope and courage,
Before the dawn fell down
And doubt rolled in to stay,
But how and what did they trip against
Before running faster than the wind,
Somehow thought you'd understand
Blood connection, DNA
Was I wrong?
To look for you
Beside me in this storm...
This lonely road I travel
With vague memories now, at best
Remembering as we do
Those days gone by,
Can we turn around and find that earlier time?
When we had talks underneath that harvest moon
About everything and nothing,
Vowing always to be there for each other,
No matter what or who
Needs were real and our conversations, too
Was it?
Or all just in my head
As I sit here,
Without dry eyes ...
