Studies show that most teens reveal

That they are suicidal.

Though the suicide rate for the population has remained

Relatively stable since the 1950's

The rate for adolescents has more than tripled.

I imagine that it's good that most

Suicidal adolescents do not want it to happen.

This ambivalence to live is communicated

Typically through verbal statements and behavior changes.

The most frequently utilized method for completing suicide

Among adolescents is the use of guns.

It's ironic that a poor suicide attempt

Is interpreted as one of the most

Powerful predictors of completed suicide.

You've just got to get it right the first time.

If I would have to commit to any one thing,

Committing suicide is not it.
