Questions to Ponder (if you dare) by Alisa Jsif we each have the ability to create our own destiny
would your life be exactly the way it is now?
if not, why not?
if we are the masters living here
what would you make different and why
how would you change it?
all of us have the ability to think and decide
it's this whole idea of free will and choice,
then how do you account for those unexpected disasters?
or those days, weeks and months when everything goes wrong?
why does it seem like only some have that key
to get what they want, regardless
while others meander, aimlessly
there has to be some other explanation
something we're not aware of,
something unseen ...
take a look around
so many people, so many lives
with some we'll interact
others, pass on by
oblivious to our world without any concern
yet they live right beside us,
we see them wherever we go
but for some reason, they're not a factor
ever wonder?
what is this life we've been given and why?
so many options, so many roads
how is it only some aspire to greatness?
with others, they could care less
ask them where they're headed
they have no ready answers, haven't a clue
never gave it much thought, really
and you find them
looking
strangely, your way
wondering to themselves
whats it to you?
without proper direction or plan
life has a way of slipping away
it was once springtime
now we see autumn approaching,
once we were young
now getting older,
many without purpose
they let whatever, be
never gave it attention
who bother?
how do you explain this experience we call life?
what do you do when its not living,
but rather, surviving
just to get through to another day
to what?
to go where?
what does it matter?
then how do we change it
if not satisfied?
is it beyond our grasp to comprehend
the real reason we're here
how we ended up right where we are
today, right now in the present
is the answer in coping mechanisms, whatever that is
yet, some without education achieve stupendously
others with great advantage fall miserably short,
what is the answer?
why don't more know?
it's enough to drive one mad
if you stop long enough to ponder,
there are no easy answers
maybe it was all designed this way
this mystery
called living,
this experience called life,
but for who?
who really decides?
