Friends & Wobbly Bits

by Tony Whitaker

Friends disclose their worlds and woes,
From happiness to despair.
Late night strolls along country roads
Our lives, and loves, we shared.

We laugh at things that make us sing
The world is ours to ponder.
But your heart is open to be further broken
Your new innocence I hold and wonder.

In time the tear in your heart will mend
And you will see more clearly.
And your knight one day will joust his way
Lanced by your ways completely.

So please don’t ask for me to chance
What most assuredly can’t be thine.
For I belong to an inner song
You know the rhyme in mind.

Let’s laugh and sing and praise the thing
That fills our lives with reason.
For short is the way that fills our days
And leads us to our final season.

May you find that thing
That lies between
this world
and the beat
of your wings!

this one speaks to me of following the song in one's heart, the path one is destined to take, to walk day by day, open for any and all possibilities... lovely..;-)
