"Fraudulent Adult/ Fraudulent Child"

by Cristy M.

All my twenty-five are privy
to their knick-knacks in conversation
from the pulpits of the bean bag chairs
secret missions planned:

We stick a cockroach in Amanda's pockets!
Stealing pentops, make th'm rockets!
Eat our pound cake, leave the crumbs!
Ease out beneath th'm warring thumbs!

All this lipping kiddie nonsense
hyperactive whosits, whences, wheres:

I see an amusement park!
I see this ride! This big ride!
It goes really really fast!
Ever heard of a cockroach
in a full-metal jacket?!

From the insides of their mind,
the world is elastic
cutting edges of every noun seen
technicolor, despite the real monotany

all the letters anarchists
in their anarchistic cafes
across the streets from pubs
named Pre-angsty. They are
the bouncers and
I'm the secret agent spy.

I sit cross-legged on the carpet.
I pay attention and take notes.

Hmm. I sound like I would fit in well with this group of people. and i'm not sure if that's a compliment to me or not... hmm.

I like how you take the role of observer, very perceptive on how adults and children can act the same way at times. Thats what I took from it at least. Great Read!
