Cabin Fever

by Christel Crews

days in bed
away from work
has left me

TIME

and i remember
now why i
stay so busy

because

i overthink
everything and
question, worry, fear

YOU

second guessing me
reading into the
silences that

SCARE

me because i
do not know
where you are with

ME

Author's Note: ok, so i've been sick in bed over the last 3 days and when i can't sleep, i worry, and when i can't worry anymore, i second guess and its a horrible cycle i've found myself in lately.. and this isn't my best of pieces but its all i could come up with while i'm feeling so crumby..

TIME YOU SCARE ME.....powerful, Christel!

I really like the back-and-forth nature of this thing. It's really nicely handled.

The stop start rhythm combined with the embedded line really does make this a strong, powerful piece. Get well soon.

Oh yeah, being sick and all the time alone can drive you crazy. But I pray that God will make it into a good thing- that He will calm your mind and heart. There's no need to worry about anything when you hide beneath His wings.

I love the imbedded message, and yes, time does scare me (sometimes) when I have too much of the unstructured kind. Excellent sentiments because in free time, our minds do wander to all kinds of things that aren't there when we fill our lives with activities of any kind (like spending money LOL!) Get well soon Christel.
