Fire and You by Christopher ShinFire explodes as
my mind races through
the darkest earnest
part of my flickering
mind.
Nothing seems the same,
and youth and old age
is slowly a mixture
of black and red.
Memories burn
away as the
darting of a shooting
star like an Egyptian
Queen's asp.
Will you hate me
with no redemption?
Will you let forgiveness
burn away the regret?
Suddenly now I'm
faced with abilities
so near and far,
but I will not fold.
Maybe I am your Sybil,
or maybe you are my doom.
Yet the fire bursts
inside my head,
and I am hoping
my anger will fade away. 12/14/2006 Posted on 12/14/2006 Copyright © 2025 Christopher Shin
