In the stillness of the midnight hour
All is calm and so very serene,
Her spirit comes looking
For the one she left behind
All those years ago
When suddenly transported
To the other side

Patiently waiting there in the shadows
Just beyond that wispy shrouded veil,
Watching for her beloved
Quietly and quieter still,
She remembers when they first met
Some sixty years ago
Though time now seems not relevant
Without him, time stands still

Winds howling now at high noon, strange! ...

Listen, do you hear?
Is that someone whispering?
Its gotta be her
and the wind blows

At the doctor's office today
He went for just a routine check-up,
Maybe it was a kidney stone
Or some other minor complaint
What!
X-rays revealed an ugly surprise
Aortic aneurysm, 8cm
Emergency surgery frantically scheduled
For this Friday
Suddenly,
The winds begin ...
