Some Day's You Just Have to Twirl

by Sandy M. Humphrey

When relinquishing all care
Giving in to the music of the soul
If in a precious moment’s whim
You understand no need to control

When you become aware of a change
As the burden has been lifted
You see life for all its blessings
And each moment as it is gifted

When it is the distant heartbeat
Of a different drummer that you hear
In wild abandon pick up your feet
Give into the dance without any fear

Live in the moment and celebrate
Notice there is joy today in your world
Some day’s you let it go and feel free
Some day’s you just have to twirl

Author's Note: For my inner child and the days when we all need to listen to the child inside. With thanks to M.R. for helping me find her.
