A Fathers Lament by Alisa JsHow do you explain to your little girl
Her mother no longer lives here
As part of this family,
How do you tell her
She's found someone new?
What do you say in the middle of tears?
When she asks,
'Why no mommie?'
'Why no mommie lives here?'...
Can we find any words to remove all the blame?
Bring back the hope that once lived
Hold high the flag victorious
Not this battle scarred heart,
Broken and kicked away ...
Sad little face with a sad little frown
Trailing behind tears as they drop,
Splashing along the floor of her heart
Now in shock as she watches her mommie
Walk away
Get on that plane
And fly
Without her ....

But the crime was that there were my two precious children who were still quite young to suffer such a fate. Something I will endure for the rest of my days! |
