A Mother's Helping Hands by Sandy M. HumphreyA baby cries and a mother knows
That cradling can bring comfort
One heartbeat to another in her
Arms the infants needs are met
A toddler skins his knees
Medicinal kisses bring magic
Healing and a Scooby band-aid
Is insurance all will soon be well
The bruised ego of a teenager
Can be mended by words
Of encouragement to stay the course
And listen to a different drummers beat
The son becomes the man
When his world starts crumble
A mother prayerfully places him in
Gods hands as she been known to do
For she has been His instrument
Of healing all these growing years
Cradling the baby, kissing toddlers knees
Lifting broken spirits of an independent teen
With faith she knows God will care
For the child that is now grown
He will be the strength that guides
And the peace that comes after the storm
