February 14, 1998 - August 22, 2006

I have stumbled onto this land of dark sorrows
Crashed through slippery steps right through disbelief,
Still reeling from the shock of your sudden departure
Ripped from my world
They lied!

I never had a chance to say good-bye
I trusted them to help you get better!
And what did they do?
They let you die!!
Without even a care

I've now learned of so many others
Who met the same fate
Trusting hearts crushed under the weight of blood stained hands!
Take me to a place where time is no more
I no longer have need of such things,
Let me stay a while longer
Here, with these memories of you
Back when my world still had smiles and a dream ...

Death paid a crass visit to my heart today
He wasn't welcomed, but he came anyway,
He ripped from world, my faithful friend
My beautiful, Ashley cat ...

Through rough weather and storms
He was always there and how I remember ...
Him waiting as I opened the door every eve
So happy to see me, he'd run
Straight to my arms with a slide on the floor,
We'd share how our day went
As I held him so close,
I could feel his happiness complete
Through his sweet, rumbling purs and eyes full of love
Blinking cat kisses my way ...

Thank you for eight years. Ashley
I will treasure them forever,
But today my soul cries, great tears
Endlessly ...
