Excitement lived in the air around us
Prancing with delight as we sang

and I just knew we'd be together,

I began planning my days all around you
Nothing else mattered and no one else dared
So perfect we were,
Heaven unearthed
All my dreams at long last
Finally came true ...

I lived in a state of perpetual bliss
My life was complete
I had you,
Then suddenly
Stripped from my world
Without warning
I found myself alone,
Yet, lingering still
In my head
Were all these words of great romance
Waiting ...

Now, they just sit there
and stare into space
Vowels dropping and consonants slipping
All over the floor
Face down and crying
That's where I found them,
This day ...
