Is Summer Really Dead? by Alisa JsIt was in the winter of her love for him
When summer died in autumn's arms,
Spring was lingering on life support
Still, the embers glowed below ...
The morning chill coughed and wheezed
and wrapped around dawn's sleepy daylight
Just a little tighter,
Peeking through those misty shadows
The stars above lost their places, one by one
and fell confounded, somehow
Fumbling there on that sea of blue
So unlike before near heaven's door,
When strung across that midnight sky
In dazzling radiance, forevermore...
Where did summer go?
Is autumn next?
How can we really know,
Won't you take my hand while we pray
for spring's sweet release,
and together we'll watch those embers glow ...
