Distorted

by Genevieve Sturrock

I believed all those things you said about me
I absorbed it and felt guilty
and tormented myself for years
believing you

Your accusations sat heavy on my heart
and perverted my actions
into evil intention
worthy of accusal

you twisted my words
you distorted my self image
you manipulated
and confused
and contorted

and I believed it all
until I stepped out
of your Fun House

Really nice ending. I like the teeth.

this is juicy! i love it, you are confronting the past falsehood and with one swift blow, you remove yourself from it! great job

i'm sorry you've been made to feel this way too.
