cinnabar

by Peter Humphreys

as
light
lightly
lightens
light blue
the sky
from indigo
and as your
naked body
stirs
from beneath
the sheets
vermilion
I linger
and catch
the sensuous
dawn
creeping
crooning
crawling
o'er the
tiled roofs
of cinnabar
as
quick silver
while
down
below
in streets
hush quiet
you call
to me
as
workward
bound
good
morning

You capture so much here, Peter! Excellent, just excellent! Thanks.

I LOVE the way you write Peter! Even without punctuation, the reader can follow the meaning of the words because of the flow and the unique forms you use. Very nice ending. Sounds like the start of a beautiful day!

Most delightful and moving love poem (as I saw you all your poems are love poems,) I totally understand! The sweet alluring dawn calls you as she does and that you answer with poetic greeting, heart so purely and genuinely moved. The recognition of her naked body creeping from under sheets, and out of the indigo night, and vermillion--- the movement of quiicksilver perfect, in movement and and allusions. I love the cooing as well! (Perhaps the early sound of doves...) The idea that the dawn such a voice is charming. The moment is alive for all of us as a result and moves us too!
